Thanks to the L-mount standard, the APO-Summicron-SL 28mm f/2 ASPH. also fully compatible with cameras from other partners of the L-Mount Alliance, which also have the lens mount developed by Leica Camera.
Extremely powerful and robust stepper motors with DSD® (Dual Syncro Drive™) are used for the autofocus used in all Summicron SL lenses. With these, the entire focusing range can be covered in just around 250 milliseconds.
13 lenses – three of them with an aspherical surface on both sides – in ten groups contribute to maximum image quality even with the aperture fully open. A special focus in the construction of the APO Summicron SL fixed focal lengths is on avoiding scattered light and reflections. In addition to optimizing the optical and mechanical design, unavoidable reflections have been reduced to the lowest possible level thanks to a high-quality coating on the optical surfaces.
Thanks to the dust and splash water protection and the Aquadura coating of the outer lens elements, the extremely durable lenses can also be used in almost any weather without hesitation.
