Leica first introduced a titanized version of the Leica M6 in 1992. The camera had a top cap and base plate made of brass, which was provided with an extremely resistant titanized surface in a complex process. All controls were also elaborately titanized.
Intended for tough professional use, most of these cameras ended up with collectors and were never used.
