The lens shows general signs of age-related wear. Optically, the lens system is clean.
Leitz was late to the game with the introduction of an f2 version of the popular 35mm focal length for the SLR camera. While the M user had this type for more than a decade. In 1970 this new lens was finally introduced.
Its design with 9 elements and 7 groups reflects the complexity of the task. Its optical properties make the lens ideal for use as a reportage lens where center performance is most important.
