The LEICA Vario-Elmarit-R 2.8-4.5/ 28-90mm ASPH, introduced in 2003. Variable focal length lens was the last newly designed lens before the Leica R system was discontinued in 2009. The high-quality, extremely compact lens fully covers the lower and middle focal length range. With its imaging quality it is hardly inferior to the Leica fixed focal lengths.
