Leicaflex SL Black Paint
£1,250.00 *
The Leicaflex SL represents one of the finest mechanical SLR cameras ever produced by Leica, combining uncompromising engineering with a distinctly purposeful design. Introduced in 1968 as Leica’s first TTL metering SLR, the SL refined the original Leicaflex concept into a camera renowned for its exceptional viewfinder, remarkable build quality and uniquely smooth mechanical operation.
Offered here is an especially desirable black paint example, serial number 1280005, manufactured in 1971. This camera represents a scarce and highly collectible configuration, finished in Leica’s elegant factory black paint. This example is in excellent condition with only light areas of patina and paint loss around the camera and a small dent on the top plate by the counter. It is in perfect working order.
Unlike later black chrome finishes, the original black paint bodies develop a characterful patina over time, with gentle wear revealing the brass beneath, giving each camera a completely individual appearance prized by collectors today.
Includes body cap only.
