Summilux Steel Rim 1960, black with black front ring (extremely rare). With focus lock in black paint (with typical abrasion) and original red numbering. The lens has been authenticated and certified at Leica Classic Vienna. Only the first units in production had the front ring in black finish, and somewhat more common was in silver. The original OLLUX lens hood (equally unusual) is included in the lot. Designed by Dr. W. Mandle, it was made exclusively in Canada, and its production was not public, although it is known that only a few units left the factory (very few in black finish). This unit, with this serial number, is one of the earliest known lenses produced under this design.
