Leica M2
1.490,00 € *
The Leica M2 was considered a cheaper, simplified version of the Leica M3 from 1954. It is noteworthy that the frame counter of the M2 consisted of a disc plate under the film advance lever, which had to be manually reset to zero after reloading. This system was similar to that of the Leica III series and unlike that of the M3, which is an independent frame counter visible through a window in the top plate that automatically resets to zero when the film spool is removed.
The rangefinder system was also simplified from that of the M3 and this possibly made it more susceptible to rangefinder flare. The M2 has a rangefinder with 0.85 magnification and framing lines for 35, 50 and 90mm lenses instead of the M3's 0.91 magnification and 50, 90 and 135mm framing lines. This makes it more suitable for photojournalists who prefer shorter lenses or for spectacle wearers who use a 50mm lens and sometimes have difficulty recognising the framelines of the M3. The frosted glass frameline illumination window of the M3 has been replaced by a Fresnel plastic lens.
The camera has been fully checked by our specialist staff and is in very good and fully functional condition.
The viewfinder is clear and free from fungus, scratches, dirt and clouding.
The shutter speeds also work perfectly.
In addition, you will receive a 12-month manufacturer's warranty.
The original packaging is included in the scope of delivery.
