Leica twin-lens camera (replica)
4.490,00 € *
The dual camera is a special stereo camera that enables the capture of images with a 3D effect.
It is fitted with two fixed lenses. The distance between the centres of the lenses roughly corresponds to the distance between human eyes, in order to achieve a natural sense of depth. To minimise parallax errors, the viewfinder was positioned exactly halfway between the two lenses on the top plate.
It is believed that only one or two examples of the genuine original, designed by Oskar Barnack himself in 1935, exist worldwide.
As there is considerable interest in this curious design, high-quality replicas such as this one have been produced over the years.
Leitz developed special devices for viewing these images:
Votra stereo viewer: A handy metal device into which uncut film strips or individual slides could be inserted. Adjustable eyepieces created the three-dimensional effect.
Projection: There were special attachments for slide projectors, such as the Leitz Ujela, to project the images onto a large screen on the wall, although viewers often had to wear polarised glasses.
Includes a 1-year warranty.
The camera has been checked by our specialist staff to ensure it is in full working order. It is in good condition. The vulcanite shows cracks in just a few places, which is common for cameras of this age and does not affect its function.
