The Leica APO-Vario-Elmarit-SL 90–280mm f/2.8–4 is a professional telephoto zoom lens for the mirrorless L-Mount system. Thanks to its extended focal length range, it is particularly well suited to sports, wildlife and event photography. The lens delivers excellent optical performance with high sharpness and high-contrast colours across the entire zoom range. Apochromatic correction effectively prevents distracting colour fringing. The maximum aperture ranges from f/2.8 at the wide-angle end to f/4 at the maximum telephoto focal length. An integrated optical image stabiliser also ensures shake-free handheld shots. The body is made entirely of metal and is protected against dust and splash water. As the zoom and focus mechanisms are entirely internal, the lens does not change length when operated. The autofocus uses a dual internal focusing system, which drives two separate lens groups, enabling extremely fast and quiet focusing.
The lens has some scratches on the outer edge of the front element. These do not impair image quality in any way.
