Leica M2 in black paint, in fantastic condition because the top and bottom plates were replaced by Leica in the 1980s. All other components are from 1963. The shutter mechanism, shutter curtain, and CLA were recently overhauled by Customer Care in September 2026; the certificate is included. This service was performed by one of our best M-mount and screw-mount camera technicians, whose signature is on the certificate. The quality of his work can be seen in the YouTube video “Repairing a 100 Year Old Camera.” The first shipment of this black-painted M2 was on February 24, 1964, to Tiranty, NY, USA. Also included is a copy of the original shipping records, along with the notation “M2 Lackiert,” which means the camera was manufactured with a black paint finish. Includes a black decoration box, body cap, and two rolls of Leica Monopan 50 film.
