Leica double camera (replica)
€4,490.00 *
The dual camera is a special stereo camera that makes it possible to record images with a 3D effect.
It is equipped with two fixed lenses. The distance between the lens centres corresponds approximately to the human eye distance in order to achieve a natural depth effect. To minimise parallax errors, the viewfinder was placed exactly in the middle between the two lenses on the top plate.
Only one or two examples of the real original, which was designed by Oskar Barnack himself in 1935, are believed to exist in the world.
As there is great interest in this curious design, high-quality replicas such as this one have been produced over time.
Leitz developed special devices for viewing these images:
Votra stereo viewer: A handy metal device into which the uncut film strip or individual slides could be inserted. Adjustable eyepieces created the spatial impression.
Projection: There were special attachments for slide projectors such as the Leitz Ujela to project the images onto the wall over a large area, whereby the viewers often had to wear polarisation glasses.
Incl. 1-year warranty.
The camera has been checked by our specialist staff for full functionality. It is in good condition. Only in a few places the vulcanite is cracked, which is common for cameras of this age and does not affect the function.
