The Leica M7 0.72 in a black chrome finish, manufactured in 2002, is an analogue 35 mm rangefinder camera that combines the classic shooting experience of the Leica M system with the convenience of an electronically controlled automatic exposure system. In addition to fully manual exposure control, it offers an aperture-priority mode, in which the camera continuously determines the required shutter speed to match the preselected aperture.
The bright rangefinder with 0.72x magnification is particularly versatile for classic M focal lengths. The illuminated frames for 28/90 mm, 35/135 mm and 50/75 mm are automatically displayed when the corresponding lens is attached. The coupled rangefinder and automatic parallax compensation enable precise and direct composition.
The electronically controlled shutter speeds in aperture-priority mode range from 32 seconds to 1/1000 of a second. The shutter speeds of 1/60 and 1/125 of a second are mechanically available, meaning the camera can be triggered at these speeds even without battery power. The M7 also supports automatic detection of DX-coded film, thus combining classic Leica mechanics with practical ease of use.
With its timeless design, high-quality build and full compatibility with Leica M lenses, the M7 is a versatile tool for reportage, street, travel and fine art photography. This camera has been inspected and service-certified by Leica Customer Care and comes with a 2-year warranty.
