SUMMILUX-R 1,4/80 MM, ROM Version
€2,100.00 *
The Leica SUMMILUX-R 80 mm f/1.4 in black, with the serial number 3398513, was manufactured in 1986. It was originally manufactured as an R-Only version and later fitted with ROM contacts. As a result, this particular lens combines the classic design of the early Leica R version with the added electronic lens recognition for compatible Leica R cameras.
The combination of a classic 80 mm focal length and an exceptionally fast aperture of f/1.4 makes the lens particularly attractive for portrait, available-light, stage and reportage photography. Its optical design, comprising seven elements in five groups, produces a distinctive image even at full aperture, with a three-dimensional rendering of the subject and smooth transitions into the out-of-focus areas. When stopped down, the lens gains even greater sharpness and contrast.
The minimum focusing distance of 0.8 metres opens up a wide range of possibilities for close-up portraits and detailed shots. The high-quality metal mount, precise manual focusing and the integrated, extendable lens hood underline the professional character of this classic Leica R lens.
