The Summilux 50mm f/1.4 ASPH (11891) builds on the proven optical design of the Pre-Asph 11868, offering the same superb image quality in a more compact and discreet package. This was one of the first M lenses designed by Peter Karbe and remains a superb lens even today. Produced from 2004 to 2023. Compared to the successor 11728, which introduced a 0.45m close focus and subtle cosmetic updates, the 11891 maintains a more classic form factor that many photographers still favour for its minimalism and balance on smaller M bodies. With its crisp rendering, excellent contrast, and compact build, the 11891 remains a favourite among street and reportage photographers seeking precision in a subtle form.
This example is in absolute top condition with almost no signs of use. Leica Germany recently serviced this lens and comes with a 2 year warranty certificate. Includes original box with front cap, rear cap and leather pouch.
