LEICA Elmarit-R 2.8/24
The Leica Elmarit-R 1:2.8/24 mm is a wide-angle lens of the R system, which was originally designed in co-operation with Minolta. It offers an angle of view of 84 degrees and is known for its compact design and high mechanical manufacturing quality. The lens was produced over a long period from 1974 to around 2006. The optical calculation comprises 9 lenses in 7 groups. A special feature is the system with movable lens groups (floating elements), which optimises the imaging performance at close range. At an open aperture of f/2.8, the lens shows a slight vignetting and a gentle loss of sharpness towards the corners. Stopped down to f/5.6 or f/8, however, it delivers a very high level of detail resolution and strong contrast across the entire image field. The colour rendition is often described as somewhat warmer than with purely German Leica designs of this era. The lens is in good condition. Incl.1 year warranty. The rotary control for the polarising filter on the lens hood is very loose but functional.
