In 2000, the Leica Historical Society of America (LHSA) - a US-based association of Leica collectors and enthusiasts - commissioned a special commemorative edition of the M6 TTL model. Leica accepted the project and created a version with finishes inspired by the classic M3 and M2 cameras of the 1950s and 1960s: the Leica M6 TTL LHSA Black Paint (10443), equipped with a 0.72x viewfinder.
This limited edition was produced in only 650 units, and the camera is presented in its original box along with all its original accessories: strap still in its box (unused), battery in blister pack, instructions and letter of authenticity. The camera is absolutely flawless, with the Black Paint finish intact, even in the areas of greatest contact such as the pull lever, and the protective plastic still on the plate. It has had only one owner, a collector who took careful care of it, making it a truly exceptional collector's item.
