Leica Summilux-M 35mm f/1.4 Infinity Lock 11870
8.500,00 £ *
The Summilux-M 35mm f/1.4 (11870), produced from 1967 to 1995, represents the second generation of Leica’s fast 35mm lenses, building on the charm of the original “Steel Rim” version (11870z) from the early 1960s. While both share the same basic optical formula, the 11870 introduced improvements in handling, coatings, and mechanical reliability, offering a slightly more contrasty image and marginally less flare while retaining the classic glow, distinctive bokeh and compact size that made the early Summilux lenses so sought-after. This version was eventually succeeded by the ASPH Summilux-M 35mm f/1.4 (11874) in 1994, which introduced a modern aspherical element for vastly improved sharpness, contrast, and edge performance which sacrificed some of the earlier lens’s character in favour of technical precision and consistency across the frame.
This example is a very rare transitional model is black painted infinity lock. These transitional versions have slightly different optical designs as Leica was transitionally from the original Steel Rim to the Version 2. It is in excellent condition with very minimal signs of use. Leica Germany recently serviced this lens. Includes 12504 hood and rear cap only.
